Our Story: The Magic of Silk

Created out of necessity and driven by a passion for innovation, Silky Tots is committed to bringing a touch of magic to sleep time with our 100% Mulberry Silk bedding and lifestyle accessories. Silk is naturally kinder to skin and hair, reducing friction while also maintaining hydration, leaving natural oils in the hair and skin to do their job.

But how did we discover this incredible secret?

The Birth of the Cot Sleeve

Our core product, the Silk Cot Sleeve, was created out of necessity. Our founder, Nikki, continually found clumps of hair in her daughter's cot after she slept.

Searching for a solution, Nikki discovered that silk was the answer. Sleeping on silk reduces friction, allowing delicate skin and hair to glide across the pillow, sheet or bed surface, instead of rubbing, catching and breaking it.

What began as one mum solving one very real problem has grown into a business now coming up on almost 10 years old. From those first clumps of hair in the cot to the range we offer today, the mission has never changed, give every baby the gentlest possible start to sleep.
